SPRINGFIELD, IL – February 19, 2026 – The United States Professional Karting Series (USPKS) today announced a proactive schedule adjustment for the final round of its championship season. Originally scheduled for September 25-27, the season finale at Lorain Ohio Kartplex will now take place one week earlier, running from September 18-20.

This strategic adjustment was made with a singular focus: prioritizing the overall health of the karting industry and giving our competitors the chance to support their respective regional series.

Prioritizing the Racers Over the Schedule

Recently, the USPKS was made aware that the original late-September date created a direct conflict with the Texas Sprint Racing Series (TSRS). Due to logistical limitations, TSRS was locked into their date and unable to shift their event.

The USPKS has always been privileged to receive a great deal of support from the thriving Texas karting community. Recognizing the situation this overlap created, the USPKS leadership team determined that forcing dedicated drivers, teams, and families to make the choice between competing at a new venue with the USPKS or supporting their premier regional championship was an unacceptable outcome.

A Commitment to Industry Collaboration

“At the end of the day, the fundamental goal of any series should be to grow and sustain the sport of karting,” said Mark Coats, USPKS Series Owner. “When we looked at the scheduling bind that TSRS was in, we knew we had to look at our options to see how we could help. The schedule of other series created the flexibility to move our Lorain event, and doing so was simply the right thing to do. It ensures our Texas-based competitors don’t have to make a tough choice. We strongly believe in the value of series working together, rather than against each other, to put the racers first.”

By removing this conflict, the USPKS hopes to reinforce a standard for industry collaboration. When karting series communicate and cooperate, the entire sport benefits.

The Lorain Ohio Kartplex Finale

The newly scheduled September 18-20 weekend at the Lorain Ohio Kartplex promises to be a spectacular conclusion to the season. The event will serve as the crowning stage for our national champions and the deciding round for our newly expanded prize packages.
